AcreDay ("AcreDay," "we," "us") operates an online marketplace in the United States where landowners ("Hosts") list land that guests ("Guests") can rent by the day for camping, hunting, events, storage, construction yards and similar uses. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you use acreday.com, app.acreday.com, and related services (the "Services").
1. Information We Collect
- Information you provide: name, email address, phone number, account credentials, profile details, listing details (property location, photos, descriptions, rules), booking details, messages, and support requests.
- Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card or bank account numbers; we receive limited details such as the last four digits and payout status.
- Automatically collected information: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, approximate location, and usage data collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Information from others: reviews and messages from other users, and verification or fraud-prevention signals from service providers.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate and improve the Services, including listings, bookings and payments.
- Communicate with you about your account, bookings, customer care, and, where you consent, text message notifications.
- Verify identity, prevent fraud, and keep the marketplace safe.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to run the Services: between Hosts and Guests to complete a booking; with service providers that host our platform, process payments (Stripe), send email and SMS messages (SMS providers), and provide analytics or security, all of whom are bound to use it only on our behalf; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.
4. SMS / Text Messaging
If you opt in to receive text messages from AcreDay, we collect your mobile number and consent record to send customer care and booking notifications. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. 5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and enforce our agreements. We then delete or anonymize it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing.
